Lansanah received his first big break when the team promoted him to start Outside LB after injuries forced LB Jonathan Casillas out action. Since his promotion to the starting position, Lansanah has excelled as a member of Lovie Smith’s Tampa 2 Defense finishing the 2014 season with 81 tackles (61 by himself), 1.5 QB Sacks and 3 interceptions, with two of those interceptions returning to score touchdowns. He was greatly appreciated and praised by Lovie and the coaching staff of the defensive team for his ability to play both inside Linebacker and Outside Linebacker during the time he was substituted during two games to replace the injured Lavonte David.
On August 3, 2016, the Miami Dolphins signed Lansanah to compete for the job as the backup middle linebacker against Neville Hewitt and Zach Vigil. He was waived on August 10, 2016.
