Max Starks is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on January 10, 1982 in Orlando, Florida, United States. Starks, who was 6’8″ tall and weighed 370 pounds, was the NFL’s largest player. He wore size 19 shoes and stood at 6’8″. Starks’ four other relatives were also professional football players. The Steelers drafted him in 2004 at the number three pick 12. For the eventual Super Bowl Champion Steelers, he was drafted in round three, pick 12, 2005.

While he was a Florida undergraduate, Starks was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2007.

Entering the 2007 season, Starks lost his starting job to Willie Colon; however, he played in all 16 games. He also started 4 games at the end of the season at left tackle in place of the injured Marvel Smith. On February 21, 2008, the Pittsburgh Steelers placed the transition tag on Starks. He signed his one-year, $6.85-million tender offer on April 19. He signed another one-year contract with the Steelers following their victory in Super Bowl XLIII.

Starks was awarded an athletic scholarship to the University of Florida in Gainesville. He played for Steve Spurrier’s and Ron Zook’s Florida Gators football teams between 2000 and 2003. He won the Southeastern Conference (SEC), championship ring in 2000 and was a blocker for Rex Grossman (2000-2002), and Chris Leak (2003). Starks, a senior, was team captain and first-team All SEC selection.

Starks was born Orlando, Florida. Starks attended Orlando Christian School, sixth through eighth grade. He played basketball and volleyball with the OCS Knights. He wore size 16 shoes as an eighth grader. When he couldn’t find shoes that fit, he borrowed shoes of Shaquille O’Neal, a NBA star who played for the Orlando Magic. Starks was also a ball boy for that Magic. Starks was a student at Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando. Starks is the only Highlander high school football player to go pro. He was the state’s best offensive lineman in 1999 and was named to Super Prep, National Bluechips, and Prep Star high school All-America team. He was also an honorable mention All-American by USA Today. He was twice an all-conference basketball selection.

In 2006, he traveled with Seattle Seahawks defensive end Bryce Fisher and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Patrick Kerney on the USO Tour, traveling to United States military bases, a tradition begun by such NFL greats as Frank Gifford and Johnny Unitas. In 2005 Starks visited the USS Theodore Roosevelt at sea, along with members of the Cincinnati Bengals coaching staff.
