He also played in his first team in the NFL (he was initially undrafted) as well in the year 1989., he played in two games for the Miami Dolphins and one game with the Washington Redskins.

Reaves was a 1,000-yard rusher twice (1,323 for 1985; 1,471 yards in 1987) He was also the leader of the league both times. He ended the season with 5,923 yards rushing for the Blue Bombers. He was first in all of the CFL in rushing three times during his career. He was a three-time CFL all-star.

Reaves was a player for five seasons with the Blue Bombers from 1983 to 1987. He ran for 898 yards during his debut season and finished second for the NFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award and an all-star. He was a star in 1984 when he was the top player in the league with 1,733 yards and 18 touchdowns and 304 yards and set all-time team records. He also created an CFL record of 2,140 yards from the line of scrimmage. He won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player Award. He also assisted in helping his team take home their 72nd Grey Cup, their first win since 1962.
